About the Role
We're looking for a backend engineer who is as comfortable owning infrastructure as they are writing clean, production-grade code. You will work directly with the CTO on building reliable systems, shipping features, and keeping the platform fast and stable as we scale.
This is a high-ownership role — you won't be handed a ticket queue. You'll be involved in decisions, not just execution.
What You'll Own
- Backend systems — architecture, APIs, databases, and server infrastructure
- Platform reliability — uptime monitoring, incident response, performance
- Automated data pipelines — scheduled jobs, data integrity, error handling
- Third-party API integrations — financial data feeds and transaction systems
- Deployment pipelines — CI/CD, environments, release management
- Code quality — test coverage, peer reviews, reducing technical debt
What We're Looking For
- 2–5 years of backend or platform engineering experience
- Strong Python — you've built and maintained production Django applications
- Solid understanding of REST APIs, relational databases, and Linux environments
- Experience owning infrastructure, not just writing features
- Comfortable reading and improving existing codebases
- Reliable, low-drama, ownership-driven — you figure things out
